I am a true believer in the indoor/outdoor concept, and this house presents it beautifully. It showcases all of my favorite materials – wood, glass and stone – all combined in a one-story home in the seaside resort south of Malmo, Sweden.
Located on a corner lot with roads to the north and west, this modern and nature oriented house is the home of a middle-aged couple, whose children have already left the household.
The Hakansson Tegman house is based on a steel-enforced timber frame with clay bricks cladding; its facade is moderate and quite private, featuring carefully positioned windows that only suggest what is revealed on the other side.
This charming home is angled around an inner garden; three small bedrooms crowd together in the northern wing, whereas a continuous sequence of spaces – kitchen, dining room, library, living area and winter garden – inhabit the western wing.
I love the wood screens – a vertical and horizontal design element that is both functional and stylish; not only does it provide shade and privacy, but it also enhances the indoor/outdoor feeling.
nice your blog,i like it….thanks
