Nestled off the shores of Gate Lake, outside of Montreal, Canada, you will discover a towering chalet nestled neatly at the edge of a majestic cedar wood forest. Yet this enchanted location is unencumbered by the lofty two-story home, as it feels as though it belongs there with the ease of the sloped roof seamlessly following the lines of nature’s path.
Built by TREMBLAY, with architect Eric Joseph at the helm of this project, he set the tone beautifully for the interior design team from BOOM TOWN, to come in and work their own bit of magic. Cedar cladding, glass, stone and metallic zinc finishes create the outer perimeter of the home, and the interior is a reflection of similar natural elements.
Entering in from the upper level, you are greeted by a large outdoor porch, and once you have entered and descended into the main living area, you are met with a full vantage point of nature through the myriad of glass paneled walls and floor to ceiling windows.
The sunken spaces – including the dining room – add depth to the layout of this home, and the classy furniture choices refrain from distraction from the majesty of the view outside.
Stretching out beyond the master bedroom is a terrace equally as dreamy as- ideally – a night’s slumber is within the bedroom, offering a view of the lake below, delivering serenity within the most apt room in the house.
In a word: beautiful!
