Designed by Marcel Wanders, the Skygarden pendant lamp artfully blends classic detail with contemporary design. To get yourself one of these beautiful light fixtures, you’ll need to spend a couple of $$$, although in my eyes this spectacular lamp is as unique as the delicately sculptured garden foliage design decorating its interior.
Inspired by an antique decorated plaster ceiling from one of Wanders previous homes, the interior of the lampshade with its wonderfully detailed leaves, flowers and branches is surprisingly in contrast with the sleek, dome-shaped exterior. Adding to its distinctive appeal is the intricate lattice-work detail over the light source.
I love how a simple, modern suspension lamp becomes a decorative element when looking upwards.
