Hara Villa: Green Prefab Cabin from India

When I think of India, a modern prefab cabin is the last thing that comes to mind, so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered this small villa by Mumbai designer and architect, who also launched India’s first lifestyle store, Pinakin Patel. This wooden villa comes fully furnished and since all parts are prefabricated, your holiday home or extra living quarters can be completed in no time.

Hara Villa means Green Villa in Hindi; Pinakin calls it “limited edition, plug-in living”. Made from local timber, the villa is quite compact, only 670 sq. ft.. It consists of one bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom, which includes a bucket bath and a water-saving beaten metal sink. There’s also an outdoor wooden deck and sit-out with shaded pergola.

The villa comes fully fitted with all modern amenities – air-conditioning, kitchen equipment, a TV, broadband Internet, as well as lifestyle decor like bed linen, crockery, art and accessories – all by Pinakin. Estimated at Rs 30 lakhs (approx. $64,500), only 25 pieces, limited edition and numbered, will be available after which the design will change completely.
