When it was my turn to host a dinner party I knew I had to bring on the “X Factor”. Every one of my friends had that something they were famous for, I had nothing. I knew that cooking wise this will be a lost cause as I’m nowhere close to my friends ability and I knew my servings wouldn’t make the cut, it was time to look at the big picture. It was time to think about the lightning. I needed an item to draw everyone’s attention and to create a unique and special atmosphere.
I found exactly what I needed – the beautiful Bel Occhio Pendant, by Pablo Design, is a combination of both a multi-position spot light and a suspension lamp.
The spherical acrylic shell is gently cradled in its base allowing infinite adjustment with a touch of the hand. The beauty of this lamp is that on its base it can be swiveled and so aimed in any direction that suits you and your living space. Point it at the wall, or into a corner, for ambient lighting. Place it on a table and you a have gorgeous table lamp. My guests will have to restrain themselves from trying out the lamp for themselves – Bingo!
The pendant version mimics the light bulb in form, but in form only. Used conventionally, it directs light downward, providing focused illumination. Its clear spherical shade also diffuses ambient light, and in a darkened room. This is contemporary design at its very best. It is also available in orange, white, table and pendant models.
Well, this elegant lamp was certainly the center piece of my dinner party, and surely enough it did the trick. My guests couldn’t let go. What can I say – like moth to a flame…
