These stylish log bowls are just perfect for adding a touch of nature and a spot of color without being too overpowering. Usually, whenever I go looking for new dishes I have to decide beforehand what look I’m going for: contemporary or traditional, industrial or natural, mass produced or hand-crafted.
My home-decor style is eclectic because I usually end up buying the things I like more than the things I “need” and most of all I’m not too fond of things that come in “sets”. When I saw these unique serving bowls I knew they were just perfect for me because they combine the natural beauty of trees with the sleekness of perfect color.
Each bowl is handmade from slices of locally reclaimed trees. The trees are hand selected and gathered in Alberta, then left to dry for 4 to 6 months before being turned and finished by local crafts people. The outside of the wood is left in its natural state but the inside is carved out and then colored and finished in a high-gloss by the Loyal Loot Collective. It’s actually really exciting to see how Doha Chebib has used traditional techniques, new technologies and a fresh point of view to create these aesthetic, sustainable bowls.
I love these bowls, and the fact that even though they are very colorful they still remain true to nature. They come in a variety of vibrant colors and assorted sizes and as you can imagine, “sets” lover or not, I have already started collecting them.
very cute!
