FlexibleLove furniture is a flexible cardboard chair that you can expand and shape according to the number of people you want to seat.
How many people can we seat? This is the usual question that arises whenever we plan to have friends over for dinner or lunch. We always seem to have more friends than chairs so we’ve started sending out “bring your own chair” invitations. To date we haven’t had anyone decline our invitation because of this (why say no to good food and fast company?!) but it’s not the best solution.
On one such occasion I got a call from a friend: “cancel the chair request, I have seating for everyone”. With no other information available, I had to trust our friendship and hope we won’t be eating off the floor. She arrived with two FlexiLove chairs and with a triumphant grin expanded them to the exact length of the table. It took all of 5 minutes and I had a perfect seating solution!
Inspired by the concept of the classic “love-seat”, FlexibleLove seating can hold from one to as many as sixteen people, changing length and shape with a simple pull at each end. FlexiLove furniture is made of recycled paper and recycled wood waste.
The cardboard is strong enough to bear the weight of so many people because of the honeycomb structure (as long as they don’t try walking or jumping on it!). The construction of hundreds of cells gives an accordion-like result which gives it strength and durability and allows each piece to be extended and collapsed with ease and obviously you shouldn’t use it next to an open fire.
The FlexiLove is so adaptable and fun to shape that I now find myself playing with the shape of the table, why just do boring rectangles?
