This beautiful coastal home is located on a stunning site in Australia’s Eastern Victoria. The unique geometric design is based on how context and use transform a house from a simple box to an Origami-inspired creation.
The Scapehouse is a modern beach house that was designed to accommodate a single guest as well as the entire family on summer holidays. The location is perfect, situated on a sloping site with panoramic ocean views from Cape liptrap to Wilson’s promontory.
The envelope of the structure, with its sheltering black gabled roof, adapts to the site and landscape; geometric glass walls twist, bend and unfold to reveal and frame the most picturesque perspectives of the surroundings. Even the interior design and furniture collection reveal a contemporary geometric design.
Inside, the multi-purpose space serves as a provisional gallery, entry, veranda, storage, dining, lounging, and circulation zone.
