Both the Magic Forest and the Niagara chandeliers are part of a new line of light fixtures designed by Bodo Sperlin for Lladro, the heritage porcelain company.
As part of their RE-Cyclos project, Bodo Sperlein was commissioned to design a new and dynamic range of lighting. The goal was to use existing Lladro pieces from their extensive catalog and create from them something new. This concept was inspired by the Natures’ cycle, where nothing is destroyed and everything is regenerated and given another life. The result is both a striking and stylish collection of lighting.
The Niagra and the Magic Forest Chandeliers are made of a cluster of leafs or fairy-like butterflies, each hanging from a fiber-optic strand that illuminates the delicate porcelain, and as a whole creates an almost magical sense of movement.
Beautiful and fragile, each is handcrafted and finished to the finest quality, reflecting the irreplaceable skills at the company’s core. These masterpieces are available in various sizes and come with a price-tag starting at 60,000$. Although not cheap, think how breathtaking it is to enter your vast banquet hall or giant stairway and have it light up with hundreds of fairy wing butterflies or delicate porcelain forest leaves.
Originally known for its beautiful traditional porcelain pieces, Lladro was founded in 1953 in Valencia. By pursuing new technologies and combining porcelain, gold and even precious stones in their artistic creations the company has always managed to be aesthetically innovative and still true to its classic origins.
