For a couple of months now I’ve been looking for a clock for my kitchen wall. And let me tell you, it’s not as easy as you might think. I knew that a simple plastic clock wont do – what I was looking for was an item that each time I looked at it, the words class and sophistication would come to mind.
In today’s market there are all sorts of wall clocks; you’ve got the simple ones, the themed ones and the designer clocks, which sometimes are so innovative that you literally need to concentrate on what time it is. Yesterday, I stumbled upon the Henning Koppel’s wall clock at Georg Jensen, and it was love at first sight.
This beautiful clock is a classic timepiece, designed by one of the leaders of Danish design in the post-war period, Henning Koppel. It is crafted from stainless steel, ABS plastic and glass, and is available in black and white in 10, 15, and 22 cm.
At first glance, this clock might seem quite simple, and to me this is its most interesting feature; black dots replace the numbers that are traditionally used on a watch dial, and the entire look and feel conveys Scandinavian minimalism. Elegant simplicity + quality = timeless.
