These tiny vacation homes blend beautifully in the small village of Bodiam in East Sussex, UK. In bygone days, agricultural workers working away from the farm were often accommodated in these traditional quirky little huts. Now, they offer paying guests a cozy space to relax and enjoy the beauty of the English countryside.
Based on the old Shepherd’s hut, each of these tiny houses were hand built on the farm using reclaimed, recycled and locally sourced materials.
Aiming to achieve the lowest possible environmental impact, the huts are constructed using recycled chassis from touring caravans; the roofs are made from an old corn bin; the timber for the work tops and seat covers is sourced from sustainable woods on the farm; the remaining timber used in the construction is all from responsibly farmed forests; and the 12volt lighting system is powered via a solar panel on the roof.
Inside, the huts are full of charm and character, beautifully decorated as a small country cottage should be.
