Here are some pictures taken by talented photographer Petra Bindel, portraying the super elegant and chic kitchen of writer and interior stylist, Emma Persson Lagerberg, recently incorporated in her already stunning home. I find it to be an excellent example of how personal taste can be translated into something unique without being overwhelming.
Soft and muted minty green in matt paint color all the vertical surfaces of the cupboards. A beautiful piece of marble in grey as counter top and back splash. A brass tap and an inox oven, framed like a piece of art from the kitchen door as seen from the living room, when sitting on the sofa or entering the living area. Every item is well chosen and very much loved I reckon.
From the sofa, to the dining furniture, the lighting – how much do I love that simple light bulb hanging from a single cord attached to a brass fixture! I love the coherence on shape and color found in the choice of pendants above the dining table and the reading nook. They also communicate nicely with the disco ball hanging in front of the living room’s window. And then the kitchen details. Organized, yet fully inviting and lived.
Have you noticed the stacked books here and there warming up the atmosphere? Isn’t that a wonderful way to also welcome autumn in our homes? Imagine Sunday mornings with hot cups of tea or coffee reading through pages of favorite books, while surrounded by such an environment… All of this unfolding on the most beautiful white painted wooden floors… how can I not be smitten? And you?
I consider us stylists to be living curated lives, simply cause for us, our immediate environments, the places we inhabit, our homes, are but our canvases to express our own vision of art. The way this home is put together, combined with the way it’s photographed is considered by me to be a piece of art.
