Oh dear!… I think asides queuing a bunch of adjectives in an effort to catch attention while describing this Danish house located on one of the country’s small islands, I’d rather begin with a big sigh of admiration, an “oh dear” while the pictures do the job.
From the exterior, to the interior, to the atmosphere, to the individual choices of furniture and materials used, this house is simply a marvelous example of how less can be more, of how modern can be beautifully married with traditional touches.
I’ll just share here with you some of my very favorite personal features and perhaps you can join in and do the same in the comment sections below, how about that?
So, to begin with, the symmetric architecture with identical windows all around, the gorgeous wooden floors covering all the house but the kitchen, where the most stunning ceramic tiles in fish bone design are laid. The fact that the same tile and pattern are used in the fireplace. I just love hints of continuity in a space!
The incredible sense of tranquility and free space, while achieving a warm atmosphere with but a few accessories like the huge chess on the unique and sur mesure coffee table, the giant, golden vintage A letter, the fur pillows in one of the bedrooms… and not to forget the super contemporary wallpaper mimicking wooden old planks in the dining area. However I love our current home, I’m immediately moving in there… I suppose you would completely do the same, right?
