I have a soft spot for Majorca and I can’t hide it. It’s a marvelous place, combining beautiful beaches, picturesque villages and amazing rides up on high mountains with breathtaking views down the Mediterranean sea. It’s one of these places on earth I feel totally at home.
Sometimes I daydream about owning a house there and today I thought I daydream publicly out loud with you here, while sharing this beautiful stone house on the beloved island.
The lucky owner of this modern cave house, situated somewhere on a small coastal village of the Majorcian region Tramuntana overlooking the Mediterranean sea, is Alexandre Betak, a show producer, designer and art director.
This minimal yet so warm summer retreat is designed by the owners. From the exterior pictures, one sees the absolutely amazing natural surrounding, drawn in olive and pine trees, with a hill in its back. The house is built from stones in a traditional way, with the windows being dressed with wooden shades painted in olive greens, wonderfully blending this building into its natural surrounding.
Gorgeous and large day beds in simple yet impressive lines, surround the square swimming pool, which is leveled down the main building and its verandas. I’m just imagining the night view here… outrageously beautiful must it be.
When one moves to the interior, features like the sunshiny bright plastered walls, the pebble floor in the living room, the natural curves, the stairs, the wooden elements such as the doors and roof beams, details like mini shelves implanted on the wall made from natural stones, the countless windows providing views to the magical surroundings, and the simplicity of the furniture, like the many wooden logs cut to serve as mini tables attract ones attention and invite to experience a magnificently curated place when one can enjoy summer living at its best.
I love this house!
