The Epaulette frame set by Caroline Olsson is a simple picture framing set that replaces complex components with intelligent carpentry. It is a simple set of glass sheets for the faces, wooden rungs for the frame, and (the best bit) copper corner fixes that hold it all together at the ‘shoulder’.
By linking the frame on the outside in this way, and making the whole system self-assembly, Olsson has brought a light aesthetic to the frame, one that is designed to really bring the focus to the art or image inside, not distract from it. What’s also great is the glass for the front and back of the frame, so you can easily flip pieces to show signatures or notes.
Such subtlety means you could happily use this to add interest to a wall without being too much. It’s also easy to change the images when you get bored. You could even use it for weekly announcements or information, or just your latest gig ticket.
So all your art can really be on parade.
