Designed by a debutante inventor, the Slatgrill is a simple solution to remote cooking and grilling. The 3 piece design is unpretentious, collapsible and infinitely portable – the heaviest version ‘The Trail’ weighs under 1.5 kilos, and the lightest ‘Summit’ only 0.6 kilos.
The product will appeal to happy campers as much as it will to gastronomes and barbeque fiends. Stainless steel, anodized aluminum and high-grade titanium have a great raw industrial finish, and the shapes are simple cuboids with a grill top – no tacky, fancy plastic finishes or embellishments. This way they won’t interfere with the view from your wilderness campsite.
Each one can hold up to 90 kilos of food, which is more than enough to sate even the hungriest trekkers, plus clever nooks can hold skewers for kebabs. Another bonus is their fuel adaptability, meaning they can run on gas, coal or just driftwood. What’s more the canvas carry pack they come in is rather nice too.
The attraction of Slatgrills’ pack-ability and adaptability is strong, but it could also be at home in a less nomadic spot, like a city terrace or back garden. We recommend however, that you make sure you go wandering with this piece – such a great design should be done justice!
Dimensions; Scout – 22cmL x 22cmW x 10cmH, 1.3kg. Trail – 30cmL x 45cmW x 10cmH, 1.36kg. Summit; 22cmL x 22cmW x 10cmH, 0.63kg.
The question is – what will you forage for supper?
