A renovated 15th century villa, located on the Croatian coast line sounds like the perfect place on earth, doesn’t it? For as much a summer house and perhaps a primary home residence for these later years of our life, when gardening and relaxing under the sun will be activities to be enjoyed spontaneously rather than just when on vacation or during the weekends.
I have always loved the luxurious yet grounding feeling that houses built out of limestone carry. Speaking of stability, closeness to nature and basic materials with undeniable charm. Villa San Spiritio is fully covered in limestone externally, while inside straight, whitewashed walls are combined with the warmth of the favorite stone.
White framed windows bring in light and gorgeous views, making the addition of art unnecessary. A gorgeous geometric fireplace centered between two windows set the focal point in the living room. Simply, carefully selected furniture and a love for a less-is-more attitude prevail in every room.
I’m especially loving those Danish chic chairs, while my favorite spot after the veranda would be the built in bench under the window… I’d add pillows and read favorite books, enjoying the breeze coming form the sea, listening to the sounds the air would make. Would you like to do the same? What would be your favorite thing to do in such a house?
