Somewhere in between a drum and an up side down cupcake is where my imagination brought me in order to find a simple way to describe the Panier Stool by Helen Kontouris Design. Its rubbery texture, the diamond like design and the colors remind of sugary treats crafted with the finest art, wouldn’t you agree?
Harmonious balance of proportions, detailed precision and a soft appearance being its main characteristics, it comes as no surprise to find out that it won the Idea Award in November 2012 in the area of Object Furniture and Lighting.
Available in a variety of colors, made from 100% recyclable and UV stabilized Polyethylene plastic, Panier stool measures 45cm in height and 45 cm in width and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
My absolute favorites are the black, grey and muted pink versions. I love how they appear among the trees in the woods as photographed for their promotion. I can see them used outdoors for happy summer gatherings, in the lobbies of design hotels but also as an element incorporated in stylishly designed modern homes.
Most preferably, I can see the black version adding texture and interest in an otherwise, paired down, white Scandinavian environment.
