Right on the point when I was wondering whether the marble floating stairs in our German home by the woods really “work” with the wooden floors, I came across this 261sqm luxurious apartment design in Stockholm, supporting this combination.
Amazingly beautiful large wooden planks in neutral color dress the place’s living areas, such as the living room, dining area, kitchen and reading room, all in an open dialogue with one another. White walls and ceilings set the base for a chic play to unfold, featuring sophisticated tones of grey, brass details and marble elements, as seen in the stairs, bathroom, fireplace and the dining table’s top.
The fireplace is a unique example of how materials like marble, brass and natural wood can work with one another beautifully and harmoniously, bringing about a visually interesting result, stimulating the senses. The wood’s warmth embraces the marble’s coolness, while the shiny, almost golden looking surface of the protective brass shield on the floor welcomes luxury.
The icing on the cake are the large poofs, imitating pebbles, made from woolen felt. They bring an extra element of coziness and comfort, simultaneously staying loyal to the clean, simple, minimalistic lines.
Moving into the reading room, that daybed from Mies Van Der Rohe standing elegantly in the middle of the room, allows for hours of indulging in beautiful books, looking into the marvelous green views, while enjoying the light coming from the windows surrounding the whole apartment.
The bathroom, a true jewel made from marble, an element moderately and so correctly used in this whole space. The bedroom, an oasis of calmness in neutral tones, with a large art piece placed opposite the bed. All in all, a space where excellency in taste, function and beauty prevail. I’m buying it, you?
