Today we’re going on a trip to a Canarian island I yet have to visit: Formentera. If it is anything similar to Lanzarote and Tenerife, places I visited during the past 8 months, it should be just as breathtakingly gorgeous. Much like the summer property shared here.
I’d call this place a natural beauty. It has been well designed, incorporating tones of natural materials like stone, wood and concrete. Natural materials combined with neutral tones and colors, establishing an extremely easy to the eye atmosphere, a place to relax and to live at the same time feeling one with the Majesty of nature. Luxurious yet toned down, the place speaks of owners who wisely know where and how to attribute value.
From the large wooden doors, to the stone tiles covering the floors all over, to the amazingly raw beauty of the bathroom, to the metal chandelier flying along and above the dining table, providing shelter for dozens of flickering lights to be lit during warm and cool nights.
Moving outwards, a swimming pool surrounded by a wooden deck, with views to trees and the endless blue sky, greets the inhabitants and their lucky visitors. I love how clear volumes are combined with unfinished looking, rough surfaces on the walls. I love how inviting this residence is, how it supports well the view that buildings are supposed to support and enhance people’s lives, while bringing them in close with nature as much as possible.
