Typing these words my legs currently being stretched out from a rather pretty sofa bed, able to accommodate up to two people sitting or lounging, I know without any doubt that a firm decision has been made inside of me. There shall be a more suitable solution for those like me who work long hours with their laptops either organizing their day, communicating with clients, typing texts, reading, working on pictures or masterfully strolling through the corridors of Photoshop creating collages and designs. It seems my envisioned and much wished for suitable solution has already a name: Hosu.
Hosu is another one of Spanish architect’s Patricia Urquiola fabulous designs, available through Coalesse, which has received The Gold Red Dot Design Award for 2013. No wonder. Hosu is very attractive and overly comfortable, convertible work lounge offering personal space to relax and get things done. Two contradictory yet so valuable aspects of life.
Inspired by the observation about the use of the floor as an endless work surface, Hosu encourages spreading out, featuring an effortless convent from a low lounge to a chaise to suit the moment. Well thought details such as the side and rear pockets, as much as the cable pass through, ensure function combined with aesthetics. Coming together with a lumbar pillow and offered in 6 custom colors like mustard yellow, dark green and muted blue, it is a choice to satisfy many tastes.
Hosu is available in a single flip of fixed lounge and a double fixed lounge version. Just pick the one that fulfills your needs. I’d love two single flip ones for him and I, in order to work and be together while being simultaneously in the same space: at home, in front of our large living room windows, enjoying the winter snow falling over the woods nearby while planning our next trips and business moves. Did I mention they’d be mostly welcome in a concrete grey tone?
