Scandinavian design has a lot of warm supporters all over the globe and I’m certainly one of them. I’m wondering, are you one for them, too? When searching for spaces to share with you, I notice how often the spaces are either located in a Scandinavian country or are embracing the style. For today’s feature, a very chic home based in Stockholm, the residence of Art Director Pelle Lundquist, which was put on sale some months ago.
The owner’s title is expressed via incorporating a great mix of art in a light filled, white apartment, where simple and strict furniture lines are softened by texture and color. Perfectly fit to the walls cupboards offer rich storage solutions without jeopardizing the sleek feeling Pelle wishes to prevail, allowing for art to stand out.
The space is openly planned with the kitchen, dining and living areas communicating with one another, unfolding in a rectangular space, where repetitive symmetric windows bring in tones of light.
A simple marble surface along the wide and long corridor serves as a spontaneous working corner. A floor to ceiling and wall to wall bookcase carries colorful books and marks the passage to the private area with the bedroom. My favorite room of all, the lounge corner with the super elegant white sofa and the mix of colorful kilimis on the floor.
