Now that autumn has settled and winter is quite evidently on its way, spending more time at home is an effortless choice. Next to the word home for me, comes my favorite armchair, there where books and magazines will be read, music will be heard or some quiet times taking in all of life’s beauty will be reflected upon. I’m always attracted by good design, where simplicity and function go hand in hand, while aesthetics are discretely emphasized.
The Norton Wing Chair, designed by James Harrison and fully produced in Britain using traditional techniques, is an exceptional choice.
Harrison is specialized in making unique, modern updates to classic designs, Norton Wing chair being a perfect example. Imposing and elegant at the same time, promising comfortable times of lounging, this chair is available in single and double version, in a large variety of upholstery from leather to cotton textiles.
The exposed wooden frame, or else the legs, are available in three timber hardwood finishes: Oak, American Black Walnut or stained Beech. The version with brushed heather cotton upholstery and legs in Pecan-stained finish is my absolute favorite. Truly loving how well it could appeal to both a man and a woman, with its perfectly balanced design. A real classic with a breath of fresh air for sure.
Norton originally measures 33.5 inches in depth, 29,5 in width and 45 inches in height, however its size can be fully customized to fit ideally the needs of the domestic or commercial environment it will be inhabiting. Other than the size, the upholstery can also be fully customized, resulting in a one color or two color version, depending on the taste and the mood someone wishes to unfold in the room. How would you dress yours?
