Fashion designer Lynda Newton and her husband Paul admit that the first encounter with their current amazing three bedroom home was anything but love at first sight. One needs vivid imagination to understand why as the evidence of today loudly speak of the contrary.
The once old and run down warehouse has been successfully transformed with the help of Stoll Long Architecture into their family home, as Lynda and her husband took the decision that this is their next project.
Lynda’s keen and experienced eye on product and interior styling has been a tool in creating a sophisticated and eclectic environment embracing the couple’s love for vintage furniture and much loved collection of art works.
She uses a backdrop of white walls, which reflect the luscious light streaming in from the numerous windows, in combination with dark floorboards. Exposed red bricks which have been salvaged along with as many other materials from the original building as possible add character and warmth. A surprising highlight is for sure the glass courtyard, which brings in even more light to the open plan living areas.
