While I wouldn’t mind either version in my apartment, the TOOaPicnic series of shared seating areas is designed for offices, restaurants, and waiting rooms. Each of the four setups were built to stimulate collaboration, whether that’s chatting over a cup of coffee or planning the company’s next big project.
The TooaPicnic Share, Chill, Chill+, and Hide all feature a similar basic design: two seating areas facing each other with a broad, bench-like back that encloses a table at the center. Each piece has certain additions, though, that make them better suited for specific places.
Hide’s fully-enclosed form is perfect for a restaurant, with the two diners receiving important privacy from Hide’s high walls. Available with red upholstery, Hide also excites some more romantic notions that would be perfect for fine dining.
Appropriate for their name, Chill and Chill+ are the most casual of the collection. With basic gray upholstery, they include two seating areas on either end of the table, and a shorter, cushioned wall at the back of the design. The only difference between Chill and Chill+ is that the latter offers arms.
Share seems to inspire a kind of freedom. With no arms or backs on the seats, it is a piece that welcomes you to sit but doesn’t restrain you. You are free to leave at any time.
Each piece in the series can be expanded to include an integrated power source, and you can even combine two of the sections with a tabletop insert, establishing the perfect meeting space.
