Apple has built their central design scheme around visions of the future. MacBook Pros and Airs are all made of cold aluminum, and the iPhone and iPad are of a similar design with tough glass and stoical frames. But I don’t think I’m the only one who appreciates a little bit of old-world material. The L09 Leather Arc Cover for the iPad 3 is an example of mature design that uses tactile materials like wool and leather, especially leather.
Made from Italian calfskin, the L09 is a naturally rigid cover and stand for the iPad 3 that can bend and hold its form to whatever angle you want. Because the leather is more pliable, fine circular forms are created from manipulating the L09 that are unavailable with a rigid stand made of plastic.
With its earthier colors of Claret (a deep red), a deep sea blue, and a more natural, grainier black, the L09 is made for modern technology but doesn’t sacrifice the comfort of older techniques and materials.
There is also a hand-crafted silver buckle that fastens the cover across your iPad just like a pair of hand-made monk shoes with their broad clasp.
