Simply designed by most conventional standards, the Huilo Huilo cottages are nestled in a breathtaking forest of oak. The interior design of these structures creatively hides twenty-first century amenities.
Constructed with local hardwoods, the ground floor houses a comfortable living room and kitchen area. The second floor hosts beds for sleeping (cabins are available for 2, 6 and 8 people). Prices start at $170 per night and include a daily room cleaning.
Textiles are kept in their natural state, such as the linen drapes, leather and wood furniture and bent wood stair rails. I love the way that the design of the cottages melds seamlessly with the outdoors. No modern metal structures here…
Activities include excursions to the waterfall at La Leona, and a visit to the Deer and Wild Boar Breeding Center, will keep the whole family busy. For those less adventurous, head over the Lawenko Spa for some pampering.
