This ingenious configuration was created based on the need to add more functionality to a small space. Everything has been simplified but with a touch of beauty added to design a perfect recipe of: one part party animal, one part display and finished with a dollop of dinner for two.
In a small space, clear use of space is imperative to avoid the two ‘c’s: clutter and claustrophobia. This collaboratively designed structure is soothing to the soul. The team of Michael Chen, Justin Snider, Brady Caldwell and Alan Tansey invented the aptly named PartyWall for a diminutive Chelsea apartment in New York City.
Gone are the days of beer kegs in dark and dank basements, the PartyWall has a fully integrated bar with refrigeration and tap. White, lacquered panels slide to transform into their evening alter-ego personality; rich walnut burl finished cabinetry. LED lighting adds light and shadow and defines the abstractness of this piece.
Not to ignore the need for dining after a few cocktails, this team of four included a five-foot, pullout component that creates seating for two with cubes that also can be used to accommodate additional guests at a cocktail party.
After dinner, guests can feast on cigars that are neatly hidden in a climate-controlled humidor. Visually stunning and incredibly functional, the PartyWall is here to stay.
