I had the pleasure of visiting Amsterdam several years ago. Not only is it a charming city, it is also a bustling metropolis and a great place to visit. This elegant hotel is located on the Herengracht canal, which is considered to be the most important canal in the city. In the 17th century, the upper classes and richest merchants built their homes on this canal.
The Herengracht Suites are truly a luxurious “home away from home”. Upon entering this boutique hotel, it feels like I am being enveloped in a warm wave of quiet sophistication. The main living room is a study in neutrals, and the Moroccan inspired fireplace warmly welcome me into the space.
The Patrician Suite on the third floor has a king size bed with sumptuous bed linens, velvet covered club chairs, fireplace and en suite bathroom with a decadent rain shower. I can imagine myself relaxing in the oval tub and enjoying an aperitif.
The Regent Suite is located on the top floor and has a queen bed, en suite bathroom and private terrace. This terrace allows endless gazing upon the amazing views on the Herengracht canal below or perhaps I can choose to have a romantic breakfast on the rooftop terrace.
The hotel is equipped with a fully functioning kitchen and includes appliances such as a La Cornue stove and large glass front wine refrigerator along with a private chef to whip up my favorite delicacies.
The designers of this boutique hotel have cleverly mixed old world and modern amenities in a way that is a delight to the senses. This is truly a 5 star experience right in the heart of beautiful Amsterdam!
