Terracotta clay is one of my favorite materials and it is not often used in modern design. It is earthy, warm and has a rich red/brown tone. British designer Benjamin Hubert took on the task of using terracotta to create his modern collection called ‘Pots’ and the result is exceptional. Each pot has a minimalistic shape and the collection as a whole has an appealing sculpture-like composition.
The pots have a natural finish on the outside and a glazed interior. The glazing makes them waterproof which means that you can store both liquids and solids in them. The pots also come with an air-tight silicone lid that further secures their content. It is important to note that you need to hand-wash the pots and not put them in the dishwasher.
The set consists of four pots. The ‘Tall Pot’ is perfect for storing food such as pasta that is long and fragile. The large ‘Pourer Pot’ has a large pouring neck that makes serving from it very easy. Then there is the smaller ‘Pourer Pot’ that has a gorgeous large base. My favorite is the Rotating Pot that has a soft pointed base which makes it slant.
