Inspired by the leaves that fall in autumn, Madrid-based designer Verónica Martínez created the Leaf Swing. The Swing is an exquisite example of functional art and is available in two mediums- wood and cast aluminum. The cast aluminum Leaf Swing received 1st prize at the International Design Feria de las Ciudades Sostenibles at Porto, Portugal 2012. The design of the Swing beautifully captures the soft curvature of the leaves as well as the visible veins that run through them.
The Leaf Swing is certain to look outstanding in any setting- a patio, garden or porch. It invites its user to sit on it and enjoy the simple pleasure of swinging. A pleasure many of us have neglected since childhood. Yet when we do swing, we remember the freedom and joy that floating in the air gives.
Each Leaf Swing is numbered and signed and is part of a limited series. Its dimensions are: length 550mm/216” x width 330mm/12.9”x height 70mm/2.7”. Each wooden Swing weighs 1.5 kg/3 lbs. and is hand carved from solid wood by Spanish sculptors. The cast aluminum Swing is handmade by the same sculptors who make the Goya Cinema prizes in Spain and weighs 3 kg/6 lbs. You can order it in any Ral color. The ropes for both are available in white, black, blue navy, red and hemp.
