I have recently been on the hunt for a base for my dining room table. I can share with you that it is incredibly difficult to find something that is affordable, beautiful and classic in design. Moaroom has come up with a great solution to those of us who love the look of custom pieces while having to maintain a moderate price point.
As the story goes, designer Roderick Fry set out to find a solution for his personal design dilemma of finding a table that was well made and affordable. It was also his wish to create a product that could be shipped as a flat-pack, resulting in reduced transportation costs and a lower carbon footprint.
The PI System is a collection of table bases that allows the consumer to easily create a custom table by inserting panels and pivoting the metal legs into place. This can all be achieved without the use of screws or bolts. The table top can be custom made to your specifications, whether it be solid wood, recycled wood or slab from concrete, marble, granite or even a chalkboard surface.
Table heights and widths vary, as do the prices. The legs are composed of powder-coated steel and options include black semi-gloss, gunmetal grey-brown, raw steel clear matte varnish, raw steel dark glossy varnish and glossy white.
Roderick Fry and Moaroom have collaborated to present a collection that is magical in its use of materials, highlighting form and shapes to create a simply stunning design.
