Shay Carmon and Ben Klinger of Studio Ve, create a fresh perspective on everyday cannot-live-without-them items. From their remarkably innovative wall clocks that simply astound to their two-leg table, their designs have simple, witty, and intriguing twists. Their book shelves are cheeky and practical conversation starters.
The Eli actually turns a standard bookshelf on end. A powder coated steel bracket stands tilted on the floor and the sapele wood, an African hardwood, stands upright with an ever so slight lean backward. This is certainly the shelf for me! I could transfer my stack of books from a side table to storage where I can easily pull the books from their stylish momentary resting place.
Roles are once again reversed in the Nissan shelf. The rose-colored sapele former shelf inclines at the wall. Four-high color coated steel supports your books. A turned up edge keeps them in place on one side. The ability to relocate this shelf without removing and adding wall brackets should be applauded!
The Newton wall-hung shelf seems to resist gravity with its slim colorful steel supports. L-shaped, the end brackets alternate wrapping the timber on either the top or the bottom. At the wall the steel forms a softening quarter circle. Place your favorite novel or your current read in the dramatic rift in the shelves. What a novel idea!
