Hotel Consolacion describes itself as a “delicious hotel and restaurant”. Although this is an appropriate descriptor, it is so much more. For those of you looking for a lovely hotel in an undiscovered region of Spain, look no farther than this hidden gem nestled in the hills of the Matarrana region located in the eastern region of Spain.
When this boutique resort was built, the main focus of the architectural team was to embrace the exquisite natural surrounding countryside. Multiple buildings are nestled on a hill, while terraces, a hillside pool and abundant views guide its guests to a slip into a profound sense of tranquility.
Hotel Consolacion boasts a decidedly contemporary style that is evident throughout both the public and private spaces. Wander into one of their sumptuous rooms and you are welcomed with a fuchsia hued structure that doubles as unique storage as well as dividing the main living area and bathroom. Hanging fireplaces, sumptuous linens and breathtaking views via floor to ceiling windows are all included in the incredibly reasonable price range of 165 to 285 euros.
Gather with friends in the public spaces, such as the Library, Lobby-Bar and Playground for libations and conviviality. Moments of solitude can be found in the beautiful Hermitage, a small chapel on site, which boasts an unusually large dome and frescos of Felipe Pellicer and the Lady of Consolation.
The architects have cleverly utilized hard materials such as limestone, polished concrete and slate and married them perfectly with horizontal panels of wood, a softly hued color palette and sumptuous linens to create a unique and personal environment for guests lucky enough to discover this lovely and unique hotel.
