First came the yellow brick road, then came Hugg. This sunny yellow store was constructed with plank-style crossbeam and light pine colored slot shelving, which fills the interior of this 2015 newly built store.
Taking 4 months for Tandem Design Studio to concoct, this Melbourne-based store was efficiently constructed in only a month, and is now open for business!
Spanning a space of just under 1100 square feet, Hugg offers sheepskin products alongside health products within the same genre. Comprised of uncomplicated building materials, the layout weaves itself within opposing geometry that somehow harmonizes; displaying irregular surfaces without contradiction or busyness.
From the outside this shopping destination looks quaint and bright, but take a step inside and you feel a tinge of loft-meets-barn-meets-fashionably forward design elements, which just might prompt you to take a picture or two.
From an assortment of colorful and traditional sheepskin boots, to health-geared products, this is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike. Buying local is a common and welcome theme worldwide, but buying from the locals on a trip through the down under, is simply a souvenir worthy purchase. So if you’re heading to Australia any time soon, put Hugg on your list, and send us a postcard while you’re there!
