A feather Christmas tree: Holidays glamour

christmas-tree-pink-2

As we all know, you can’t celebrate Christmas without a tree. But what if your tree wasn’t a real one but actually a hand-crafted, Eco-friendly feather tree in colors of heather grey, white, and even pink… Tres chic! Continue reading

Lumino Wall clock: it’s a full moon o’clock tonight

unique-wall-clock-lumino

Despite me loving to feel that time somehow passes slowly, a wall clock is unmistakably always a part of our home interior. Since being reminded of the passage of time isn’t the most pleasant part of life – specially being an adult, I try to compensate by choosing the most appealing designs. You see my point?

The Lumino Wall clock from Neo Utility falls in the basket of my absolutely favorite designs, both for its practical and aesthetic features. Continue reading

PIK Vase: an elegant case of three…

flower-vase-pik

These flower vases combine some of my ever favorite elements, all smoothly and beautifully combined in one. A play of textures, shapes and form in one design, made of beech, a kind of wood I truly like.

The award winning designer FX Ballery designed these wooden cylinders ending in cones, in his Paris studio. He describes them as a combination of thick and fine, aggressive and soft, solid and fragile.

I could not have described it any better myself. The repetition of number three somehow pleases me in intuitive ways. There is a sense of balance, completion and harmony in this design, which seems to satisfy my senses. Continue reading

Stucked shelves: it’s all about perspectives

storage-shelves-stucked

Few could disagree that life itself is all about the perspective every individual has on its happenings. Where some see obstacles, others see opportunities. Where some see opportunities, others in fact create them. Some devote their lives into self discovery and full self realization. Others are busy creating a puzzle out of fragments of other people’s lives. Whichever the case, it’s all a matter of perspective. Continue reading

Tea Egg: … an egg in your tea cup?!

tea-infuser-evasolo-egg

Eva Solo Collection is without a doubt one of our favorites here. From the living, bath and outdoor section to the cooking and serving one – We absolutely love the simplicity, distinct lines and high degree of functionality characterizing their Danish designed products.

Today, we are serving cups of tea here! Quite cozy don’t you find? With autumn already having started in the part of the globe from where these lines are written, all I can think of is indulging in refreshing cups of excellent tea during work hours in my home office, only to drink some more tea later, in the evening in order to relax and make my way to bed prepared for sweet dreams. Allumeuse Lamp: the evolution of the past

pendant-lamp-allumeuse

Designers never seize to amaze us with their innovative ideas. It must be the case that they are always inspired by the world and objects around them. I’m a confessed design lover and cannot help it but applaud when people get creative by seeing things differently. What particularly attracts me is the boldness of designers to incorporate some humor and / or irony in their creations.

Take as an example this wonderful pendant lamp, which was conceived by Felix Guyon and realized by the French company La firme. Continue reading

Block: organizing and recycling made easy and fun!

recycling-trash-qualy

When working with clients in redesigning and decorating their spaces, let it be living ones or working ones, I’m always careful to bring forward the importance and great impact organization and practicality have on beauty. If one wishes to live in a beautiful space, the need to start from these points is primary. Purchasing and adding pretty objects to our abodes comes long after we have dealt with less appealing matters such as for example, well… waste, rubbish or else garbage.

In the best of cases, we’ll chose practical and neat looking garbage bins, much like the Qualy Block, where we’ll separate and store all our households waste, till transported outside our homes and working places. Continue reading

Kathy Dalwood busts for Luis Vuitton

plaster-busts-kathy-dalwood

Recently looking for inspiration at contemporary fashion, innovative British artist Kathy Dalwood turned to Japanese fashion designer Junua Watanabe for his impressive “fashion as sculpture” approach. The bizarre and imaginative ways in which he dresses women bodies and especially the tight, stretched fabric he covers their faces with, became a creative fire starter for Kathy’s new experimentation with plaster. Kat: optical illusions at your service

glass-table-karim-rashid

Karim Rashid certainly needs no introduction, but perhaps you haven’t so far been aware of the amazing furniture he has been designing for the Italian company Tonelli. Or have you? In any case, presenting one of my favorite ones here will encourage you to find out more about this magnificent cooperation.

Spot light on “Kat” – a coffee table exclusively made from three different types of glass, which as their name implies, they… cut into each other. Do they really? Well of course they don’t! This is exactly where the design’s greatness lies. A perfect fit for in fact six pieces of glass, which appear as they are three, interconnected with one another. Captivating to the least!
